This Saturday April 28th from 8:15am-4:30pm we will be hosting our Umpires clinic. The Baptist church at 260 S Dogwood St. was kind enough to allow us to use their gym and classroom to facilitate this clinic. If you are looking at the front of the church head to the right and access is in behind.

It is a requirement to be certified through the BCBUA in order to ump games within our Association. Please head to and register or renew your membership and then sign up for the Campbell River Clinic on the 28th!

You will not have umpires for the day, as well you will be missing players that are in attendance at the camp. Please plan to have parents or coaches step up as umps as well as make sure you take a look at your roster to ensure you will have enough players and make any necessary adjustments.

Toronto Blue Jays Camp is coming to Vancouver Island this summer as part of our nation wide Super Camps. We will be holding a 2 day camp in Nanaimo from July 24-25 at Serauxmen Fields for children aged 9-16. The camp will run from 9:00am – 1:00pm on both days and each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat, T-shirt, baseball manual and the opportunity to get autographs from the Blue Jays alumni present.

Just a quick reminder that the COACHES CLINIC is on tonight April 11th from 7pm-10pm at the Willow Point Sportsplex.

Please make sure you are in attendance to get your initiation certification.

Thank you,

It has come to my attention that it become important to address the association.

Recently we have had a couple incidents where members of our Executive have received emails and or other correspondence that was not formed in the most polite manner. I am requesting that when contacting your division manager or anyone else, you take a second and remember that everyone working behind the scenes to try to make the season a success is a VOLUNTEER. They spend countless hours during the season as well as the off-season, working to make the season fun and fair for ALL players.

If you have questions or concerns, I urge you to bring them forward to see if a solutions can be formed, but we ask that you do so constructively. Please also note, my email is open to each and everyone of you should you want to bring your concerns to me and i would be happy to work with you towards a resolution.

Thank you,
Valerie McCulloch
